Double Drug Raid Hits Hard

On May 3, police swooped on Aldworth Close in Reading and Somerville Road in Swindon in a coordinated crackdown. Fortitude teams, backed by local Neighbourhood Policing units, executed simultaneous warrants targeting drug supply networks.

Two Arrested Over Class A Supply

Katie Longmate, 37, from Aldworth Close, and Chakir Smith, 28, of Beaumont Road, were both arrested. They face serious charges for supplying cocaine and heroin.

Court Drama Unfolds

  • Longmate pleaded guilty at Swindon Magistrates Court on May 4 and is now in custody. She waits sentencing at Swindon Crown Court on June 1.
  • Smith denies the charges. He has been released on bail but must return to Swindon Crown Court on June 1.
