A 17-year-old Huddersfield lad has been found guilty of murdering Khayri, a boy stabbed on Woodhouse Hill last September. He will be sentenced alongside a 15-year-old who already admitted the killing.
Stabbing Shocks Local Community
Khayri was just walking along Woodhouse Hill on September 21 when two males approached him and plunged a knife into his chest. Despite emergency first aid and surgery at Leeds General Infirmary, Khayri tragically died.
Justice Nears as Sentencing Looms
“We welcome the jury’s verdict today and will now await the sentencing of both these youths for Khayri’s murder,” said Detective Superintendent Marc Bowes, who led the investigation. “We are thinking of Khayri’s family as they process the news and will continue to support them.”
The two Huddersfield teens, aged 15 and 17, remain anonymous for legal reasons. Both will face sentencing soon at Leeds Crown Court.
