Witnesses sought after child assaulted in Canterbury

Witnesses are being sought following a report that a young child was assaulted and suffered a minor injury in Canterbury.

The child was sat in the back of a car when the incident took place in a supermarket car park in Kingsmead Road on Wednesday 8 May 2019 at around 3.20pm. A man and woman were also at the location where it is understood they were involved in a verbal altercation.

Initial enquiries were carried out and on Thursday 9 May 2019 a 54-year-old man from Canterbury was arrested on suspicion of assault. He’s been released on bail until Wednesday 22 May 2019.
