Shoplifter Jailed for Brazen £450 Raid in Aldershot

A woman has been slapped with a 20-week jail sentence after stealing luxury items worth over £450 from a Boots store in Aldershot’s Wellington Centre.

Disregarded Criminal Behaviour Order

Abbie Folkes, 31, from East Street, Farnham, was caught red-handed on 12 September stealing fragrance bottles valued at £461.20. What makes this theft bolder? Folkes was already banned from Aldershot for five years under a 2023 Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO), yet she ignored it and returned to commit the crime.

Police Send a Strong Warning

Police Sergeant Rob Tiller blasted Folkes as a “prolific shoplifter” who shamelessly flouted the law. He said,

“I hope this result sends a message to offenders that this level of behaviour and criminality will not be tolerated.”

Justice Served at Basingstoke Magistrates Court

Folkes pleaded guilty to one count of shop theft and two breaches of the CBO at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on 16 September. Her 20-week jail term reflects the severity of her repeated offences and blatant defiance. The court has made it clear: ignore the law, and you’ll do the time.
