£50,000 Luxury Haul Stolen in Daylight Burglary in Uckfield

A major burglary investigation is underway after luxury items worth an estimated £50,000 were stolen during a bold daylight raid on a private home in Uckfield, East Sussex.

The incident happened around 12pm on Thursday, 1 May, near Maresfield service station on the A26 Uckfield Bypass, close to Blackdown Roundabout and London Road.

Two Masked Thieves Break In Through Upstairs Window

Sussex Police reveal two masked suspects carried out the brazen break-in. One suspect climbed into the property through an upstairs window, while the second waited hidden in the garden. Both were dressed head-to-toe in black balaclavas and gloves.

Suspect Descriptions

  • Suspect 1: Black hooded coat, black gloves, blue jeans, navy trainers with white trim
  • Suspect 2: White T-shirt over black undershirt, black jeans, black shoes, black gloves, carrying a black rucksack

High-End Handbags and Watches Hauled Away

CCTV captures the thieves fleeing with multiple designer handbags concealed in three bags:

  • Large black handbag
  • Large tan handbag
  • Medium light grey handbag

Police believe the loot includes high-value watches as well. The burglars escaped in a vehicle, though the make and model remain unknown.

Police Launch Appeal for Witnesses

Detective Constable Kieran Morris of Sussex Police said: “We are actively investigating this burglary and have made a number of inquiries. We’re appealing to anyone who witnessed suspicious activity, saw the suspects or a suspicious vehicle, or has dashcam or CCTV footage that could help.”
