Man Dies at Stoke Newington Police Station Reception
Tragedy struck just before 7pm on Saturday, November 5, as a man died in the reception area of Stoke Newington police station. Officers were forced to shut the station immediately following the incident.
Death Not Treated as Suspicious
The Metropolitan Police confirmed the man, a white male in his 60s, was neither arrested nor detained. He had entered the station’s front office voluntarily. “The circumstances are under investigation,” said a Met spokesperson, adding that the death is not being treated as suspicious.
Nearby Stations Remain Open
Hackney Police issued a statement informing the public that Stoke Newington station remains closed for now. The closest alternatives are Islington and Edmonton stations, both open 24 hours.
