Man Found Dead with Serious Injuries in Toxteth
Emergency services were called to a Belmont Drive home at around 3pm after a 53-year-old man was found seriously injured. Despite efforts to save him, Leroy Venner from Toxteth died in hospital.
Two Men Arrested on Murder Suspicion
Police have arrested two men, aged 60 and 43, on suspicion of murder. They remain in custody while detectives continue to question them. A full post-mortem will determine the exact cause of death.
Investigation Underway: CCTV and Forensics in Play
Detectives are combing the area with house-to-house inquiries, CCTV reviews, and forensic searches. Detective Chief Inspector Mike Dalton said, “This was a tragic incident where a man lost his life. The investigation is in its early stages as we work to piece together what happened.”
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Officers urge anyone in Belmont Drive between 12pm and 4pm yesterday to come forward with any information. DCI Dalton added, “Check dash cams, CCTV, or doorbell footage to help us identify any suspicious activity.”
