Second Death Confirmed After Horror A36 Crash Near Knook
Tragic Twist in Multi-Vehicle Smash
A second victim has died following a serious collision on the A36 near Knook, Wiltshire. The crash happened on Saturday, 31 May 2025, involving three motorcycles and a car.
Police revealed a woman in her 60s, who was a pillion passenger on one of the bikes, succumbed to her injuries in hospital. Her next of kin have been informed. “Our thoughts are with them at this sad time,” a police spokesperson said.
The first fatality was Robert Best, 62, from Bradley Stoke, who died at the scene. His family described him as “loved and adored by all who knew him.”

The smash occurred around 10.30am on a quiet stretch between Warminster and Heytesbury. Emergency crews rushed to the scene but multiple casualties made it a serious incident.
Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Up
Wiltshire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Team (SCIT) is asking the public to come forward with any information or dashcam footage from the crash.
“If you witnessed the collision and we haven’t yet spoken to you, we urge you to come forward,” a spokesperson confirmed.
