A 20-year-old Afghan man launched a savage crowbar attack at Newton Community Hospital in Merseyside this afternoon, injuring five people and sending shockwaves through the local community.

The attack kicked off when the man demanded an appointment but was denied. In a furious rage, he smashed a hospital counter before wildly swinging a heavy crowbar at bystanders in the waiting room.
