Armed Police Storm Quiet Kent Village in Early Morning Lockdown
Armed officers from Kent Police sparked panic as they swooped on the sleepy village of Otham, near Maidstone, in the early hours of Sunday morning. Residents were stunned as police in full body armour, carrying loaded Heckler & Koch G36 assault rifles and ballistic shields, ordered people to “Get on the floor!”
Chaos at the White Horse Inn
Eight marked BMW X5s packed with armed cops pulled into the scene, backed up by two dog units. A police helicopter circled overhead, monitoring every move while the notorious White Horse Inn was sealed off.
Officers were seen escorting several people from the pub, some cuffed and taken into custody. The tense operation had locals glued to their windows throughout the night.
Eight Arrested After Weapons Disturbance
Kent Police confirmed the dramatic drama followed a disturbance involving weapons just before midnight on Saturday, May 2. “Eight people have been arrested,” a spokesman said. “A verbal and physical altercation broke out on White Horse Lane, with witnesses reporting a possible weapon.”
Six men and two women were arrested on suspicion of affray. Thankfully, no serious injuries or weapons were found. Investigations are ongoing.
