Cardiff Driver Arrested After Blowing Nearly Four Times Over Legal Drink-Drive Limit

A Cardiff motorist was slammed with a breathalyser reading almost four times the legal alcohol limit during a routine traffic stop this morning.

Breath Test Blow Sends Alarm Bells Ringing

South Wales Police’s Roads Policing Unit pulled the driver over at 9:27am. The driver was asked to take a breath test, where the legal limit sits at 35mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath.

The result? A staggering 120mcg – over triple, almost quadruple the legal limit.

The driver was arrested on the spot and taken into custody.

#OpLimit Tightens Grip on Drink and Drug Drivers

South Wales Police shared the arrest on Facebook as part of their relentless #OpLimit campaign. This crackdown runs round the clock across the region, targeting drink and drug drivers.

Several arrests have already been made under this operation.

“The message is clear. Don’t drink or drug drive.”
