Cruel Thieves Swipe Paramedic’s Bike While He Saves Lives

A paramedic’s only bike was stolen while he was out responding to emergency 999 calls in Portsmouth last night. The custom-built NS Soda, essential for his daily commute, was snatched in a brazen theft at the ambulance station.

Thieves Use Bolt Cutters to Steal Bike

One man used bolt cutters to cut through a padlock protecting the bike before passing it over a fence to two accomplices. A vigilant Tesco van driver spotted the theft and tried to intervene, but the trio escaped with the bike around 8.30pm to 9pm.

Paramedic Pleads for Help to Replace Stolen Bike

Rob, the emergency care assistant, relies on this unique bike to get to work, especially with unpredictable shift patterns making public transport unreliable. South Central Ambulance Service launched an appeal, sparking a wave of generous offers from the public to donate towards a replacement.

“I am very humbled by the kind offers of donations. I cannot afford to replace the bike on my own but obviously do need to still have transport to get to and from work – and with my various shift patterns public transport isn’t always an option. If people do want to make a small donation towards the cost of a replacement bike it is being collected on my behalf via this site. Thank you.” – Rob

Police Investigate and Urge Public to Stay Alert

Hampshire Police are actively investigating the theft (ref no 44180180218) and urge anyone who is offered the bike for sale to come forward. This call to action could help get Rob’s lifeline back or bring the thieves to justice.
