Murder Probe Launched After Stabbing in Toxteth

Police have launched a murder investigation after a man was fatally stabbed in Toxteth this afternoon, Saturday, 19 September. At 4.30pm, officers rushed to Prince William Street following reports of a man suffering a stab wound to the chest.

Victim Dies in Hospital

Emergency crews arrived quickly and took the victim—a man in his 30s—to hospital. Sadly, he was pronounced dead shortly after.

Suspect Detained, Police Appeal for Witnesses

A man in his 20s has been arrested and is currently in custody for questioning. Officers remain at the scene, speaking to witnesses and gathering evidence.

Detective Superintendent McCaughrean said: “We are appealing for anyone who was in Prince William Street or nearby who witnessed the incident or saw any suspicious behaviour to come forward. This is a tragic loss of life, and while we believe this was a targeted attack, our investigation will uncover the full details.”
