Nottinghamshire Police Set to Show Off Rural Crime Fighting Skills at Free Event
Nottinghamshire Police’s rural crime officers are gearing up for a huge day out to showcase their hard work tackling rural crime. Following last year’s smash hit, this free event promises thrilling demos and a family-friendly atmosphere.
What’s on Offer? Crime-Busting Drones, Off-Road Bikes & More
Visitors of all ages will get up close with the force’s cutting-edge drone squad and off-road bike teams. The event lets locals see crime-fighting in action while learning about rural life in the county.
The event kicks off at 10am and runs until 2pm on Saturday 29 April 2023, held at the Newark Showground. Entry is open to everyone wanting a unique insight into rural Nottinghamshire.
Food, Fun & Family Activities
Foodies can enjoy tasty treats from the Showground café and an ice cream van will keep families cool and happy throughout the day.
Partners Join Forces to Protect Rural Communities
Officers won’t be alone. Helping hands from Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service, the National Farmers’ Union, and dozens of other organisations will be on hand to support and educate visitors.
Helen Ridley, Rural Crime and Wildlife Partnerships Manager, said: “This showcase is all about showing the hard work being done to protect our rural communities. It’s our chance to speak to the public and give them the chance to interact with officers from their area and discuss issues that matter to them.
“It promises to be a fun-filled day for all, with tasty treats and an ice cream van. Events like this help build confidence in the community by showing off the amazing equipment and partnerships we have at our fingertips.
“Last year’s event was a huge success, and this year we’re set to make it even better with plenty of activities for everyone to get involved.”
Keep an eye on your local Facebook pages for updates as more partners and agencies sign up to join the event.
