Hit-and-Run Horror: Horse and Rider Injured Near Trowbridge
A horse and its rider were hurt in a hit-and-run on Wesley Lane, just off Brokerswood Road near Trowbridge on 27 December. Wiltshire Police confirmed a vehicle crashed into the horse at around 2.45pm, though some social media reports suggest the collision occurred closer to 1.50pm.
The rider, a woman in her 20s, was injured but is expected to make a full recovery. Her horse suffered minor leg wounds.
Driver Flees in Damaged Black VW Polo
Police say the driver sped off in a black VW Polo without stopping. The car likely has damage to its offside and may have a noisy exhaust system following the collision.
“The car will have been damaged due to colliding with the horse,” a Wiltshire Police spokesperson said.
