Ambulance Crashes Into Railings in Abbey Wood

An ambulance car smashed into metal railings at the bottom of Bostall Hill, Abbey Wood yesterday, sparking a major emergency response.

Emergency Services Rush to Scene

The vehicle was found lodged in the fencing outside Abbey Wood Funeral Care shortly after 12:46 pm on April 8. Emergency crews, including an incident response officer from the London Ambulance Service (LAS), quickly cordoned off the area. Thankfully, no one needed medical attention following the crash.

“We were called at 12:46 pm to reports of a London Ambulance Service vehicle involved in a collision at the junction of Basildon Road and Bostall Hill. No patients required treatment,” a LAS spokesperson confirmed.

Ambulance Was En Route to Emergency Call

Reports confirm the ambulance was responding to an emergency when it collided with the railings. London Ambulance Service is now conducting a thorough internal investigation to determine how the crash happened.
