Major Rescue Operation Underway Near Folkestone After Person Spotted in Water

A large-scale search and rescue mission is in full swing near Folkestone after reports of a person seen in the water. Kent Police were alerted late Sunday night following a sighting of a head in the sea.

All Hands on Deck in Foul Weather

Emergency teams battling rough conditions include Kent Fire and Rescue’s boat crew, Kent Police officers, Dover RNLI lifeboat, Coastguard crews from Dover and Folkestone, and the rescue helicopter “Rescue 163.

The search kicked off around 10pm Sunday, with multiple agencies combing the shoreline and water. Kent Fire and Rescue have launched a boat, while the Dover RNLI lifeboat is patrolling between the Hythe ranges and Folkestone harbour.

Search Continues as Emergency Services Remain on Scene

A large number of emergency workers remain at the scene, tirelessly covering both sea and coastline. Kent Police have been approached for more information but have yet to comment.
