Violent Moped Robbery Shocks Southampton Late at Night
Police are hunting two thugs after a man was attacked and robbed in Southampton. The 22-year-old victim was confronted by a pair of men on a moped in Montague Avenue, Bitterne, between 11.35pm and 11.45pm on Friday 4 August.
Attack Follows Refused Cigarette Request
The pillion passenger, wearing a crash helmet, asked the victim for a cigarette. When the request was declined, the passenger struck the man across the head with a bat. Meanwhile, the rider – face covered but without a crash helmet – waited on the blue and white moped.
Bag Stolen in Broad Nighttime Robbery
The attackers snatched the victim’s grey Adidas man-bag containing cash, keys, and personal items before speeding off. The victim was rushed to Southampton General Hospital with a head injury but has since been discharged.
