Teen stabbed after wild Hackney party – police hunt attacker
Detectives are urgently hunting for information after an 18-year-old man was stabbed outside a Hackney leisure centre following a large party.
Stabbing shocks Hackney night
At around 11.15pm on Saturday, 30 March, emergency services rushed to Hemsworth Street near Pitfield Street, N1, after reports of a man stabbed outside a leisure centre. Police found the victim suffering serious chest wounds.
The teenager was rushed to an east London hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
Party turned violent
Investigations suggest the victim had attended a big party at Colville Estate Community Centre before the attack. Officers from Central East CID are probing what sparked the violence.
Detective Sergeant Lauren Brady said: “A young man has suffered serious injuries and an investigation is underway to identify the person responsible.”
She added: “We know this was after a large party and many people were around when the stabbing took place. Anyone who witnessed the attack is urged to come forward.”
