Woman Stabbed to Death in Ipswich – Police Launch Murder Probe
Detectives have opened a murder investigation after a young woman was fatally stabbed in Ipswich on Tuesday evening.
Emergency Called to Burrell Road
Police and paramedics rushed to Burrell Road just after 7.10pm following reports of a stabbing. Officers found a woman in her twenties with serious injuries. Despite frantic efforts from emergency teams, she died shortly afterwards.
Crime Scene Locked Down, No Arrests Yet
A police cordon remains in place on Burrell Road, which is closed off as enquiries continue. So far, no arrests have been made.
Detective Chief Inspector Tam Burgess said, “Emergency services deployed multiple resources to the scene. Residents can expect a heightened police presence tonight and in the days ahead. We are in the early stages of our investigation but believe the victim and suspect knew each other.”
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Footage
Officers are urging anyone who saw the stabbing or has relevant information to come forward, no matter how insignificant it may seem. Drivers with dashcams or locals with CCTV and doorbell cameras are asked to check footage from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.
