Horror in Aldershot Park: Baby Girl’s Body Sparks Murder Probe
Hampshire detectives have launched a full-scale murder investigation after the body of a baby girl was found dumped in an Aldershot park.
Known only as ‘Baby M’, the tiny girl was discovered in bushes at Manor Park around 1.30pm on Friday, May 19. Officers believe she died and was left there between 6pm on Monday, May 15, and 8am on Tuesday, May 16.
Major Crime Team Scrambles to Find Baby M’s Family
The Major Crime team is working flat out to identify the baby’s mother and anyone else connected to the tragic death. Searches in and around Manor Park will continue over the coming week as detectives chase every lead.
Detective Chief Inspector Brown said: “This is an extremely complex investigation. It’s taken a great deal of medical analysis to confirm we are now treating this as a murder investigation.”
Police Promise Support — But Won’t Shy From Justice
He added: “We understand this news will shock and worry people potentially involved, who may also need support. We will do all we can to provide that, but this is a serious crime that we must fully investigate and bring to a close.”
