Tragedy in Haslemere: 90-Year-Old Pedestrian Dies After Horror Crash
A 90-year-old man has died after a collision with a car in Haslemere yesterday afternoon.
Horror Crash at Busy Junction
The incident occurred just before 12.50pm at the junction of High Street and Shepherds Hill. The elderly pedestrian was hit by a blue Nissan Micra while crossing the road.
Eyewitness Describes Shocking Scene
Angela French, owner of Objets d’Art jewellery, witnessed the crash. “He went over the top of the car,” she said. “He was lucky a car coming the other way stopped in time.”
She added: “People rushed to help. I called the ambulance. It arrived very quickly along with police.”
Man Dies in Hospital, Police Appeal for Witnesses
The man was rushed to St George’s Hospital in Tooting with serious head injuries but sadly died shortly after.
His next of kin have been informed. Surrey Police are urging anyone who saw the collision or the moments leading up to it to come forward.
