Three Men Arrested Over Emsworth Murder
Sussex police have arrested three men as part of a murder probe in Emsworth. The drama unfolded after a 47-year-old man was found seriously injured on Marlpit Lane on the morning of July 23.
Victim Dies After Airlift to Hospital
The man was rushed by air ambulance to Southampton General Hospital but tragically died two days later on July 25. Detectives quickly deemed the death suspicious and launched a murder investigation.
Two Held on Murder Suspicions
On July 27, two men aged 20 and 22 were arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody. A third man has also been arrested as part of the ongoing investigation.
“Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time,” said DI Gareth Hicks from the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team. “This has been a fast-paced investigation, and I thank everyone who has helped so far.”
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
Officers have increased patrols around Marlpit Lane. They’re calling on anyone who saw suspicious activity from the evening of July 22 to the morning of July 23 to get in touch.
