Drunk Driver Miraculously Survives Horror Smash into Tree in Lovedean
A drunk driver narrowly escaped death after smashing their car into a tree in Lovedean in the early hours of Sunday. The driver lost control on Lovedean Lane, crashing a black Audi A3 that was left barely recognisable and completely wrecked.
Unbelievable Escape from Deadly Crash
Officers from Hampshire Roads Policing in Havant were stunned at the scene. “How the driver has survived this collision is unbelievable!” they said.
“The images really hit home how foolish and dangerous drinking and driving can be.”
The driver, a man in his late 20s, was trapped and barely conscious after the crash. He was rushed to Queen Alexandra Hospital with life-threatening injuries but is now reported to be stable.
Police Await Drink and Drug Test Results
Police conducted hospital tests for alcohol and drug consumption and are awaiting results. The single-vehicle crash happened shortly after midnight on Lovedean Lane, involving a black Audi A3.
Warning as Summer Drink Drive Campaign Kicks Off
In a strong statement, Hampshire Roads Policing said: “As our Summer Drink Drive campaign begins, we hope this incident sends a clear message—don’t drink and drive.”
They added, “If there had been a front-seat passenger, they would have died.”
