Lead Theft Foiled at East Farleigh Church
Police swooped at 4.20 a.m. on Monday, 20 June 2022, after a local tipped them off about four men loading lead into a car at East Farleigh church.
Officers tracked a dark green Rover 75 with foreign plates to Fullingpits Avenue. The suspects ditched the vehicle and bolted on foot. Although the men vanished, cops seized the car and a haul of stolen lead.

The vigilance of a local resident and the prompt response by one of our patrols ensured the stolen property was recovered,” said Sgt Darren Walshaw of Kent Police’s Rural Task Force.
Kent Police warn rural property owners to lock gates, mark lead for security, install alarms and CCTV. Simple steps like securing ladders and tools can stop thieves scaling roofs or dragging lead away.
Police Hunting Suspects and Urge Witnesses to Speak Up
Anyone who saw suspicious activity near East Farleigh church or the abandoned Rover 75 on Fullingpits Avenue is urged to call Kent Police on 01622 604100, quoting crime number 46/118998/22.
Residents with CCTV or drivers with dashcam footage are also asked to share any clips that might help the investigation.
