Teen Thugs Snatch Handbag from 75-Year-Old in Alton

Hampshire Police are hunting two hoodie-wearing teens after a 75-year-old woman was attacked and had her handbag stolen in broad daylight. The victim had just withdrawn cash from the TSB ATM before walking down Balers Alley off Alton High Street at 5:25pm on Tuesday, January 22.

The elderly woman was grabbed from behind by two slim boys, aged around 14-15, standing about 5ft 2ins tall. They yanked her black leather handbag, which held £50 in cash and a pink mobile phone. The victim was pushed to the ground before the teens fled towards the nearby car park with the loot.

CCTV Footage Released – Police Seek Public Help

One suspect was decked out in a beige hooded top, while the other wore a grey hoodie. Thankfully, the woman escaped without physical injury but was left deeply shaken by the ordeal.

Police are urging anyone who recognises the suspects in the CCTV image to come forward immediately to aid the investigation.
