Murder Probe Launched After Woman Found with Fatal Head Injuries in Bournemouth
Detectives have launched a full murder investigation after a 44-year-old woman was found with serious head injuries in Bournemouth. One man has been arrested in connection with the case.
Woman Found Injured at Bournemouth Address
Police were called shortly after midnight on Tuesday, 3rd May, following reports from Poole Hospital staff. Julie Cook, from Bournemouth, was discovered with severe head injuries around 8pm on Monday, 2nd May, at a home in Clarence Park Road, Pokesdown.
Tragically, Julie died in hospital later that evening. Her family have been informed and the coroner has been notified.
Suspicious Circumstances Spark Murder Investigation
Dorset Police’s Major Crime Investigation Team is now leading a murder inquiry after suspicious circumstances surrounding Julie’s death came to light.
Officers revealed Julie had been travelling with a man on the London Waterloo to Weymouth train on the afternoon of Monday, 2nd May.
Scenes at Pokesdown Station Caught on Camera
Surveillance footage shows the pair leaving the train together at Pokesdown station at 3.37pm. It’s believed they had an altercation on the platform before walking away from the station.
Police continue to appeal for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward as the investigation intensifies.
