The drama unfolded just after 12.30pm on Wednesday, 30 January, in Downs Park Avenue. A man forced his way into a house, threatening the residents before snatching a wallet and handbag.
Suspect Flees Towards Bartley Water Marshland
The culprit then fled down a gravel path leading from Downs Park Avenue to the nearby Bartley Water marshes. Police are eager to hear from anyone who saw suspicious behaviour around that time.
28-Year-Old Man Held in Custody
A 28-year-old man from the local area has been arrested and remains in custody on suspicion of aggravated burglary.
