Tragic Teen Stabbed to Death Near West Croydon Station
A murder probe was launched after a 14-year-old boy turned up at a south London hospital with stab wounds and later died.
Fight Erupts on London Road
Police were called to London Road, near West Croydon Railway Station, at 6.41pm on Thursday, 18 November following reports of a fight involving several people. But when officers arrived, no suspects or victims were found at the scene.
Victim Dies After Self-Presenting at Hospital
Minutes later, just after 7pm, a 14-year-old boy – later identified as Jermaine Cools – showed up at a south London hospital suffering multiple stab wounds. Despite desperate efforts from doctors, Jermaine died soon after.
Call for Witnesses to Come Forward
Detective Chief Inspector Richard Vandenbergh said: “This murder happened in a busy public place during rush hour. We believe people witnessed Jermaine being attacked. If you were near the station at around 6.40pm last Thursday, please think back. Did you see anything that could help us catch those responsible?”
“Jermaine was the heart of his family. His parents are devastated and deserve answers. We will keep working relentlessly to bring the killers to justice.”
