Officers were scrambled to the area at 12.46pm following reports of the suspicious item close to St Joseph’s Church. The shopping centre entrance remains shut while experts investigate.

“We were called at 12.46pm to reports of a suspect package,” said a Thames Valley Police spokesperson.
Shoppers have been told to avoid the area as the investigation continues.
