A nasty head-on smash between two cars shook Gamston’s Lings Bar Road at around 6.30pm last Saturday (18 February).

The passengers in a Land Rover escaped with minor injuries but still had to be taken to hospital for checks.

Ford Fiesta Driver Faces Serious Charges

The 28-year-old man behind the wheel of the Ford Fiesta suffered potentially life-changing injuries and was also rushed to hospital. He has now been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving while unfit due to alcohol or drugs.

Police Hunt Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

PC Phil Broughton from Nottinghamshire Police’s Roads Policing Unit urged anyone who saw the crash or has dashcam footage to come forward immediately. He said:

“This was an incredibly dangerous incident that thankfully didn’t result in anyone losing their life. We’re committed to getting to the bottom of what happened here, so would plead with anyone who has any information about this, however small it may seem, to contact the police. This includes any dash-cam or CCTV footage taken in the area at around 6.30pm last Saturday, as this could really assist us with our inquiries.”
