Murder Probe Launched After Teen Shot Dead in Clapham
A 16-year-old boy was fatally shot in Clapham on Tuesday afternoon, sparking a murder investigation.
Tragedy on Paradise Road
Police received reports of a shooting on Paradise Road, SW4 at 3.21pm on 4 March. When officers arrived, alongside London’s Air Ambulance and the London Ambulance Service, paramedics tried in vain to save the teenager. He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Images from the scene show a grey police tent covering the victim’s body as officers scrambled to gather evidence.
Investigation Underway
Officers are working urgently to identify the victim and inform his family. Superintendent Gabriel Cameron, who is leading the local policing response, said:
“This is an enormously shocking incident which I imagine will cause huge distress to the local community. Our thoughts are with the young boy’s family at this devastating time. Local officers are on the scene gathering CCTV and speaking to witnesses to piece together what has happened. They will be supported by specialist homicide investigators shortly.
“Please rest assured we will work around the clock to identify and find those responsible.”
