Detectives have opened a murder probe after a man, 39, was brutally attacked in Southampton last night.

Police raced to the junction of Union Road and Radcliffe Road at around 11.50pm on 18 September after reports of a seriously injured man.

The victim was rushed to Southampton General Hospital with severe injuries but tragically died later. His next of kin have been informed.

Police Hunt for Suspect in Southampton Murder

Officers say the attack appears to be an isolated incident. Multiple lines of inquiry are underway as detectives work to track down a suspect.

Southampton District Commander Supt. Ali Heydari urged locals to stay calm but vigilant. “My team will have a visible presence in the community today,” he said.

“We understand that serious incidents like this cause concern. Please speak to officers on patrol or call Southampton Central on 101.”
