Massive Hunt Underway for Missing Student Richard Okorogheye

Police have released fresh CCTV footage of Richard Okorogheye’s last known sighting as the frantic search for the 19-year-old Oxford Brookes student rumbles on.

Last Seen Heading to Epping Forest

Richard vanished after leaving his family home in Kensington’s Ladbroke Grove on the evening of Monday, 22 March. He was reported missing two days later. CCTV captures him boarding a bus at 8.44pm, dressed head-to-toe in black with a distinctive black Adidas satchel slung low on his back.

Further footage shows Richard taking a taxi from London’s W2 area to a quiet street in Loughton, Essex. He was filmed walking alone near Smarts Lane towards Epping Forest at 12:39am on 23 March.

Specialist Teams Scour Epping Forest Day and Night

Detective Superintendent Danny Gosling, leading the Central West Public Protection unit, confirmed the search is ongoing “at pace” with help from the dog and Mounted Branch units. Local residents can expect a heavy police presence as officers make door-to-door enquiries and hand out leaflets around Smarts Lane.

“We are doing all we can to bring Richard home to his family, who miss him dearly,” said Detective Gosling. “My own teenage son makes this case hit close to home. Officers have volunteered to stay on through Easter in the hope of finding him.”

Police Plea: Check Your CCTV and Dashcams

The police are urging anyone who recognises Richard or has footage from doorbell cameras or dash cams to get in touch, no piece of information is too small.

“At this stage, we don’t know why Richard came to Loughton, but any clues will be crucial,” added Detective Gosling.
