Teen Girl Sexually Assaulted in Coatbridge Woods
Detectives in Coatbridge are hunting for a man after a 14-year-old girl was sexually assaulted on the evening of September 20, 2024. The horrifying attack happened around 8pm in a wooded area behind Miller Street.
Suspect on the Loose – Described by Police
Police say the victim was targeted by an unknown male in a secluded spot close to a busy part of town. The suspect is believed to be about 6ft tall and was wearing red Adidas Gazelle trainers at the time.
“This was an extremely traumatic ordeal for the victim, and it is vital that we identify and trace the man responsible,” said Detective Sergeant Alan Gardner, leading the investigation.
Police Urge Locals to Speak Up
Officers are carrying out extensive enquiries and want anyone who was near Miller Street around 8pm on that Friday to come forward. Even small details could help catch the attacker.
DS Gardner added: “This happened close to a busy area. If you saw a man matching this description or anything suspicious, please get in touch.”
