Man Arrested After High-Speed 30-Mile Pub Chase in Leysdown-on-Sea

A man is in police custody following a wild disturbance at a Leysdown-on-Sea pub that sparked a dramatic 30-mile police chase.

Pub Rampage Sparks Police Hunt

Kent Police were called to reports of damage at a pub on Leysdown Road around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, 23 August 2024. A suspect sped off in a van, triggering a swift police response.

Helicopter Joins Intense Pursuit

Despite police orders to stop, the van ignored officers and sped away. The chase stretched over 30 miles, involving patrol cars and support from a police helicopter. It ended near Brenley Corner on the A2 when officers used a stinger device to bring the vehicle to a halt.

38-Year-Old From Chatham Bailed Amid Investigation

A 38-year-old man from Chatham was arrested on suspicion of several driving offences and criminal damage. He has now been released on bail until 21 November as inquiries continue.
