Man Found Seriously Injured in Canvey Island Car Park

A man in his 40s was discovered seriously injured in the Iceland car park on Furtherwick Road, Canvey Island, just before 1.45 a.m. on Sunday.

Targeted Attack, No Public Danger

Detective Chief Inspector Greg Wood reassured the public, saying the investigation is progressing well and there is no risk to the wider community. “At this point, I believe the attack was targeted, and this incident poses no threat to the general public,” he stated.

Witnesses Urged to Come Forward

Police have launched a special portal for anyone with information about the incident to get in touch. DCI Wood said, “We’ve had a number of witnesses step forward, and I want to thank them. But if you saw anything or know something and haven’t contacted us yet, please do.”

He added that those involved were believed to have been inside The Haystack pub earlier that evening. “I believe someone who was in the pub or lives nearby knows who is responsible. I urge anyone with info to reach out to us or Crimestoppers.”
