Tragic Death of Lachlan Regan on A52 Shocks Borrowash Community
Derbyshire police confirmed the body found on the A52 near the Victoria Avenue slip road to Borrowash is 19-year-old Lachlan Regan. His lifeless body was discovered at around 11.10pm on Saturday, 3 December.
Family Pays Heartbreaking Tribute to Local Lad
“Our family and all his friends are truly heartbroken. Lachlan was loved by so many and in his short 19 years touched all their hearts,” said the family.
“He was never too old for hugs and kisses, always sharing them in the most meaningful way. Lachlan adored his little sister, sharing a special bond filled with play fights, singing, and hanging out.”
“He welcomed his cousin Dylan into the family 11 years ago and treated him not just as a cousin but a true brother. Together, they created endless chaos with army games, dinosaurs, Hot Wheels, and Nerf guns.”
“A true Borrowash lad, Lachlan was known for waving and smiling at everyone and helping anyone in need. A hard grafting bricklayer in training, he came home muddy and full of stories after a long day’s work.”
“He was the life and soul, lighting up every room with his beautiful smile and kind heart. Lachlan is incredibly missed and will never be forgotten.”
“We are overwhelmed by the love and support from family, friends and the entire community. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Officers are preparing a file for the coroner and urgently appeal to anyone who was driving along the A52 between Derby and junction 25 of the M1 between 10.30pm and 11.15pm on 3 December to come forward.
They are especially keen to see any dashcam footage that could shed light on the tragic events.
