New Top Cop Takes Charge in Nottingham’s City South
Inspector Steve Dalby is the new neighbourhood boss for St Ann’s, The Meadows, Sneinton, Mapperley, The Wells, and Clifton. After 19 years cracking tough cases in CID, he’s ready to make these communities safer and stronger.
Serious Crime in His Sights
With 23 years in the police force, Insp Dalby is focused on tackling serious violence, acquisitive crime, and drugs – the key issues plaguing the area.
“We’re in a good place with crime rates falling, but I’m not complacent. We want to do even better,” Dalby said.
He’s backed by more officers than in years and has big plans with partners and charities to keep the most vulnerable safe.
Fighting Knife Crime and Drugs
Knife crime is rare but devastating, and Insp Dalby is working closely with Operation Reacher, the council, and Youth Justice Service on prevention programmes that steer young people away from crime.
On drugs, he is adamant:
“We’ll do everything to lock up dealers, take drugs off the streets, and educate the public.”
Community First: Your Voice Matters
Insp Dalby stresses the importance of community input and promises to keep residents in the loop about local policing efforts.
“The public know how they want to be policed. I want to hear what matters to them and deliver real results.”
He urges locals to report concerns confidently, assuring strict confidentiality and that every tip will be checked.
