Armed Police Lockdown Lambeth Estate After Shots Fired
Armed officers from the Met’s elite “Trojan” unit raced to Moorland Road, Lambeth, just after 10:30pm on Friday, December 9, following reports of a shooting. Response teams quickly joined the armed cops at the scene.
Paramedics Called as Police Seal Off Area
Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service were also dispatched to assist. Armed officers surrounded a property close to a local primary school, throwing the housing estate into lockdown.
Police Search With Dogs as Residents Held Back
A police search dog and handler combed the streets while a large number of residents were stopped from returning to their homes. A substantial crime scene remains in place, with officers hunting for answers.
Met Police Appeal for Witnesses
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Officers are investigating shots fired in the Moorland Road area of Brixton just after 10pm last night. Nobody was taken to hospital; no arrests have been made.”
