Hate Crime Shocker on Elizabeth Line Train

British Transport Police (BTP) are hunting for the victim and witnesses after a shocking hate crime on an Elizabeth Line train.

The incident happened around 6:20pm on Saturday, 22 February. A woman wearing a hijab was assaulted by a man while travelling between Ilford and Forest Gate stations.

Suspect Nabbed and Bailed

Officers swiftly responded and arrested a man at Forest Gate station on suspicion of racially aggravated common assault.

The suspect has since been bailed, but the investigation is ongoing.

BTP are urging anyone with information to come forward to help bring justice.
