A lorry driver had to be rescued after a container lorry overturned in Totton

In the early hours of yesterday morning, firefighters were alerted to a container lorry which had overturned at the Rushington roundabout on Marchwood-bypass.

Crews from Redbridge, Totton and St Mary’s responded to an overturned container lorry at around half-three this morning.

The driver of the vehicle was rescued by firefighters using a ladder to reach the casualty.

HIWFRS worked to make the scene safe before returning to the station shortly before 5am.
