Tragic Crash on A303 Near Chicklade Claims Life of Elderly Driver
Emergency services raced to a horror smash near Chicklade at 12:15pm yesterday after a four-vehicle pile-up.
Four Vehicles Involved in Deadly Collision
The crash involved a red Honda Jazz, grey Ford S-Max, black Citroën C5, and a heavy goods vehicle (HGV). The 80-something driver of the Honda Jazz died at the scene.
“Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time,” police said, confirming next of kin have been informed and are receiving specialist support.
Serious Injuries and Road Closure
- A woman in her 50s, passenger in the Honda, was seriously hurt and airlifted to Southmead Hospital, Bristol.
- The HGV driver suffered minor injuries but refused hospital treatment.
- No other injuries were reported.
- The A303 was shut for nine hours for a full collision probe.
