Fire Brigade Issues Warning

“We were called to the Blackwall Tunnel at 12:50pm due to a report of smoke. Closures were put in place as a precaution. After investigation, there is no fire. Major delays remain in both directions, which could take some time to clear,” a London Fire Brigade spokesperson said on Twitter.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible or brace for slow-going as traffic congestion is expected to continue while things return to normal.
