A 13-year-old boy has denied attempting to murder two fellow pupils following an alleged stabbing at a north-west London secondary school. The teenager appeared before the Old Bailey charged with two counts of attempted murder in connection with an incident at Kingsbury High School in Brent. The alleged attack took place on 10 February and is said to have been witnessed by several pupils and a teacher. Prosecutors allege the boy stabbed two students in the neck, with one incident taking place inside a classroom and the second in the school playground.

During a plea and trial preparation hearing, the defendant appeared before the court via video link, where he entered not guilty pleas to both charges. Addressing the boy, Mrs Justice Cheema-Grubb acknowledged the legal complexity of the hearing. She said: “We have been talking about your case, and I am afraid we haven’t always used straightforward language because we have been talking about some legal things which have to be covered in this kind of hearing.” The judge also urged the teenager to cooperate fully with his legal representatives as the case progresses.
Trial date set
The boy was remanded into custody following the hearing. His trial is scheduled to begin at the Old Bailey on 23 November. As criminal proceedings are active, reporting restrictions apply. The defendant cannot be identified for legal reasons.
