Woman Gets Stuck Between Double Glazing in Bizarre Rescue

Firefighters were called out to a strange rescue after a woman found herself trapped between internal and external window panes. The unusual incident at a local home has since gone viral online.

Firefighters Arrive to Unusual Scene

Two crews from Green Watch at Temple Fire Station, including Firefighter Chris Crothers, rushed to the scene. “When we arrived, we weren’t sure what to expect,” Crothers said. “The only info we had was that a lady was stuck in a window. She wasn’t hurt but was definitely stuck, with her face pressed against the glass.”

Firefighter Crothers explained how they kept the situation calm: “People trapped like this can panic quickly, so I talked to her while we planned the rescue. She shared how she ended up stuck — and by that point, she seemed past embarrassment!”

Careful Rescue Amid Fragile Glass

The lady was wedged in the narrow gap between two layers of glazing, leaning against the glass pane. “We had to be really careful,” Crothers said. “We removed the beading around the glazing and supported her as we carefully took out the glass. Once free, we gently lowered her back to her feet.”

Despite being upside down for some time and having some unwelcome company from a few spiders, she was uninjured and relieved to be free. “We see odd things often, but this has to be one of the strangest,” Crothers added. “We told them they’d be telling this story forever — but we didn’t expect it to blow up online like this.”

GoFundMe Hits Target to Fix Window

After the rescue, local resident Liam Smyth set up a GoFundMe to cover repairs for the damaged window. The fundraising quickly became a hit, raising more than enough cash.

“The extra money raised will also benefit The Fire Fighters Charity,” Crothers said. The charity supports serving and retired fire personnel and their families.
