The coastguard’s Rescue 175 chopper from Lee on the Solent was scrambled just after 10.30pm tonight for a crucial medical evacuation at St Mary’s Hospital on the Isle of Wight. This marked the second urgent airlift mission of the evening.
Paramedic Plays Key Role
An experienced paramedic expertly prepared the patient for the swift flight across the Solent. The helicopter then landed to a waiting Hillhead coastguard search and rescue team, ready to take over the emergency care.
