Serious Crash on A3: Cyclist in Critical Condition
Police are hunting witnesses after a major collision between a van and a cyclist on the A3 in Surrey.
The smash happened at 9.11pm tonight (April 12) between Milford and Thursley. The cyclist, a man, is in a serious condition. The van stopped at the scene.
Road Closure and Diversions Cause Headaches
The southbound carriageway is shut, and the closure is set to last for hours while police investigate. The northbound side is also closed to let emergency crews, including an Air Ambulance, attend the scene.
Highways England confirmed: “The A3 southbound between the A283 at Milford and A333 at Hindhead remains closed following a serious collision just before the Hindhead Tunnel.
Drivers are diverted to:
- Take the A31 westbound to the A325 near Farnham
- Head south on the A325 to rejoin the A3 at Longmoor
