Major Trailer Blaze Hits Heathfield in Early Morning Firefight

Firefighters raced to a huge blaze on Station Road, Heathfield, in the early hours of November 15, 2023. The alarm sounded at 5.37 am, sparking a rapid response from East Sussex Fire and Rescue teams from Uckfield, Crowborough, Pevensey, and Barcombe.

Flames Spread from Trailer to Nearby Business

On arrival, crews found the fire had spread beyond the trailer, threatening a neighbouring commercial property. Firefighters went all in, donning breathing apparatus and battling the inferno with two powerful 45mm jets.

Fire Contained and Extinguished by 8 am

By 7.00 am, the fire service reported steady progress as the flames were brought under control. Within an hour, the fire was fully extinguished. East Sussex Fire and Rescue began pulling back, handing the scene back to the property owners.

The cause of the dramatic early morning blaze remains unknown as officials launch a formal investigation.
