Tragic Death at PureGym Weston-super-Mare
A member has died after suffering a medical emergency at PureGym in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset. The incident happened on the morning of Wednesday, May 14, when the individual collapsed during their workout.
Staff and gym members sprang into action, using the gym’s emergency red help point to quickly summon paramedics from the South Western Ambulance Service. Despite their rapid response, the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gym Shut Down and Reopened After Incident
PureGym temporarily closed the Weston-super-Mare branch on the day of the tragedy but has since reopened. A PureGym spokesperson said:
“We can confirm that very sadly a member died at PureGym Weston-Super-Mare yesterday morning. Our gym team and other members promptly assisted the individual, using our emergency red help point to call for further assistance.
Paramedics arrived swiftly, but despite their best efforts the member sadly passed away. We extend our sincere condolences to their family and friends.”
The South Western Ambulance Service has been contacted for further comments.
